THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING CHARLOTTE-AREA HEROES!

Introducing the Birdies for Charlotte Charities program.

Donors had the opportunity to pledge one (1) cent or more for every “Birdie” recorded by PGA TOUR Pros during the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship. The following shows how the value of a single pledge was calculated and how the value of cumulative pledges for a participating charity was determined:

$.01 per birdie x 1,400 birdies = $14
$.05 per birdie x 1,400 birdies = $70
$.10 per birdie x 1,400 birdies = $140
$.25 per birdie x 1,400 birdies = $350
$.50 per birdie x 1,400 birdies = $700
$1 per birdie x 1,400 birdies = $1,400

*NOTE: You could also make a one-time donation not tied to birdies when you signed in.

What is a "Birdie"?

Birdie indicates a score of one under par on a given hole. For example, on a hole with a par of four strokes, a PGA TOUR Professional must complete the hole in three strokes to record a birdie.

On average, about 1,400 birdies are made at the tournament each year. Here are totals from the last four:

2016 – 1,463; 2017 – 1,315; 2018 – 1,372; 2019 – 1,434; 2020 – canceled due to COVID-19.

TOTAL AMOUNT IN 2021 PLEDGES MADE: $1,110
